At The Farmer’s Kitchen Grocery, supporting local farmers has always been a core value, and our new Farm Fresh Jar collection is a natural extension of that commitment.
Every recipe represents hours of testing, refining, and tasting, all with one goal in mind: letting the flavour of the farm shine. Our owner, Jan, who leads both Oak Knoll Farm and The Farmer’s Kitchen, played an essential role in developing these products. Her passion for real, honest food guided each step, ensuring that every jar reflects the freshness and integrity of its ingredients.
From Farm to Jar, In the Truest Sense
Each pickle, relish, jam, and salsa begins its journey just three miles down the road at Oak Knoll Farm. We know exactly where our ingredients are grown, how they’re grown, and who cared for them. That connection matters — and it’s something we’re proud to share with you.
This project also gives us a meaningful way to honour our harvest. By preserving produce that might have otherwise gone to the pigs, we’re able to reduce waste while capturing the flavours of summer. Instead of being lost, that abundance is simmered, seasoned, and sealed so you can enjoy it long after the growing season ends.
Why We Created These Jars
We wanted to craft foods that feel good to eat — not only because they’re made with simple, local ingredients, but because they genuinely taste better. Flavour guided every decision. You’ll find the brightness of sun-ripened tomatoes, the crisp snap of fresh cucumbers, the sweetness of berries at their peak, and the vibrant character that only truly local produce can deliver.
